Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Preprodfilms (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. The Service

Preprodfilms is an AI-assisted film pre-production platform that helps you draft, organize, and revise screenplays, character bibles, technical scenarios, storyboards, and related production documents. The Service is provided "as is" and we may add, modify, or remove features over time.

3. Your account

You are responsible for safeguarding your authentication credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. You may invite collaborators to your workspace; you are responsible for ensuring they comply with these Terms.

4. Subscription and billing

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe. Subscription fees are due in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. You may cancel anytime from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may change pricing with reasonable notice. Trial periods convert to paid plans automatically unless cancelled.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to the content you create using the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, store, transmit, and process Your Content solely to operate the Service on your behalf, including running AI generation on inputs you submit. We claim no ownership over outputs produced from Your Content.

6. AI-generated outputs

The Service uses third-party large language models to generate text, structured data, and images. AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or content you did not intend. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to use AI outputs. We do not warrant that outputs are original, accurate, fit for any specific purpose, or free of third-party rights claims. You should not rely on the Service as a substitute for professional legal, financial, or production advice.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to: (a) generate content that is illegal, defamatory, infringing, or violates anyone's rights; (b) attempt to bypass authentication, billing, or rate limits; (c) reverse-engineer the Service or extract our prompts/models for competitive purposes; (d) upload malware or content you do not have the right to upload; (e) use the Service to harass any person; or (f) resell access to the Service without our written consent.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and our system prompts, is owned by Preprodfilms and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or other proprietary assets beyond the limited right to use the Service.

9. Termination

You may close your account anytime from Settings → Account. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or extended non-payment, with notice where reasonably possible. On termination your right to use the Service ends; we will delete Your Content within 30 days unless we are required by law to retain it longer.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF AI OUTPUTS. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA. Some jurisdictions do not allow such limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any third-party claim arising from Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of France (placeholder — replace with the jurisdiction of incorporation before launch). Any dispute will be resolved before the competent courts of the same jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
